It sounds like your going to attend my course (don't hold it against me if its taught poorly

) But if its a great teacher, you should fly through it - and of course I'll take all the credit if you enjoy it

looking for a college that does courses that gives recognised certificate in henna, so I can get liability insurance.
That's the main reason I wrote the training course, when the governing body approached me back in 1995 we had a lot of discussions, trying to predict the future. It seemed like a good idea to have a henna training course that was accessible to students via the regular channels, i.e. hair & beauty training colleges. There were teething problems with the course though (just my opinion) as a good percentage of the teachers who were delivering the course had no prior knowledge or practical experience. Some of the teachers came on teacher training courses, but most didn't... It's over 10 years on now, so I'm sure your teacher will be very experienced. But please let me know how it goes, your feedback would be valuable to the training course
It's a shame about missing out on an event. But it's risky to work without PL, someone might simply fall over your stuff, and there's a claim. Especially with all the TV ads these days for insurance claims. We've not had a claim in 14 years, but you never know... and its tempting fate not to have even the most basic PL insurance in place. Personally, I wouldn't risk it; I know people do, there are lots of henna 'fly pitchers' etc who carry no insurance. But in reality, it is pretty irresponsible and unadvisable.
Perhaps you could approach the organizer of the event and find out if you would be covered under their PL insurance if they were to invite you to do Free Henna (possibly, for donations) on their visitors...? OK, you may not make a lot of money, but you would get so much practice, and you can do pretty well on donations
